KRAKOW Parts Ways With Drummer
March 3, 2011Norwegian stoner metal band KRAKOW has parted ways with drummer Christopher Swahn Zibell due to "musical differences." Christopher will now focus on his other project VITHR (which also features KRAKOW bassist/vocalist Frode Kilvik).
Commented KRAKOW: "We had some great years with Christopher and wish him all the best in the future."
As a result of Christopher's departure, KRAKOW has canceled its appearance at the U.K.'s Hammerfest.
KRAKOW will enter the studio in April to begin recording its second album for a late 2011 release. The band states, "This is just a new chapter, and we are more hungry than ever!"
KRAKOW's debut album, "Monolith", was released in October 2009. The CD was recorded at Duper studio in Bergen, and was engineered and mixed by Iver Sandøy of MANNGARD, TRINACRIA, EMMERHOFF & THE MELANCHOLY BABIES and JAZZKAMMER.
Formed in 2005, KRAKOW released an EP in 2008 titled "Dusty Roads".
